Chat translation

General

Automatic Chat Translation allows translating visitor's and agent's responses into the selected language. Libre Office API is used for the real-time chat translation. The translation feature is supported in the desktop agent app starting from the version 7.2.3.

To activate real-time chat translation, please follow the guidelines:

1.Activate real-time chat translation feature on the Account Settings / Chat Translation Settings page.

2.Select the language which visitor's messages will be translated into.

3.Select the language or languages your agents understand. You can use CTRL button to select more than one language from the list.

4.Save changes.

Pleas note! Make sure that you use the latest agent app version.

How the real-time chat translation works

The real-time translation is available for free testing during the free trial period. After the free trial expiration it is provided as an additional service for the additional fee of $249. Thus, it should be purchased separately as an additional service. The agent app supports this feature starting from the version 7.2.3.

After the account admin activates the real-time translation in the account settings, the respective option becomes active in the agent app for active chat rooms. The "Translation" switcher is activated automatically if the visitor's language is detected by the translation tool. However, if the language was not detected properly due to skipped first message an agent can do this manually:

1.Select the language which visitors use to chat with an agent

2.Activate the "Translation" switcher

The agent sees both original and translated messages while the visitors see messages only in their language.
