Your agent app is showing "Connecting..." endlessly to no avail?

You have received "Cannot connect to the ProvideSupport Chat Server" error?

Your console is continuously going on and off line, freezing, getting stuck during chat?

All this may indicate, that it is time to white list the agent app with your Microsoft Security Essentials system. But don't worry, it is very simple here, unlike with many other security applications. Just follow the steps below:

  1. Open Microsoft Security Essentials main window
  2. Click Settings
  3. Move to Excluded Files & Locations
  4. Click Add
  5. Browse to the file ProvideSupportConsole.exe (by default you will find it at C:\Program Files\Provide Support\Live Support Chat for Website, unless you have installed it in a different directory)
  6. Click Save Changes
  7. Restart you agent app.
